Bed Bugs
Gail Otke's fun and colorful patterns are sure to entice new and experienced quilters

David's Star

BB 01-08
(Advanced)
This pattern requires the use of templates to the make the stars. Paper ones are included. A bias ring is added to the star unit and appliquéd to a four patch. It makes a nice wall hanging with 9 blocks. The border is much easier than it looks. Give it a try.

Missing Pieces

BB 01-09
(Beginner)
This pattern is designed to be fun and easy. If you can cut a straight line with a rotary cutter, you can make this quilt. Do not make this quilt for your brother if he ever hid puzzle pieces from you. Three sizes are included. Suggested fabrics - bright flannels, Bali's.

Tomorrow Today

BB 03-01
(Beginner)
Inspired by a T -shirt from Australia, it is fat quarter friendly, complete with a suggested cutting diagram, and pressing arrows. Blocks are 15" X 15", consist of 6 units, and have 38 pieces. Multiple quilt sizes can be achieved by using different numbers of blocks. They can be turned in different directions and the seams will always oppose. Fabric suggestions - 20 fat quarters and a background fabric.

Cotton Candy

BB 03-03
(Intermediate)
Inspired by my early years at the fair, and by the many pretty fabrics that are available today. Fabric suggestions -a multi colour print, 2 values each of 3 complementary fabrics, and a background. Plain squares, 4- patch units, and 1/2 square triangles make this quilt.

Across The Lake

BB 03-05
(Intermediate)
The fabrics showcased in this quilt are from the "Alexander Henry Fabric collection -Piecable Kingdom". As these may not be available, it also screams for a multi colour fabric, used like a kaleidoscope. Paper templates included. Acrylic templates are available. {Okanagan Cross Templates #BB T03-05}

Just Squares

BB 03-06
(Beginner)
A simple pattern using only squares. The layout is designed to look like gingham. 6 values of one colour are needed. You can incorporate some embroidery and any size of square could be used. Four sizes and different border options are included.

Pretty 'n Pink

BB 04-03
(Intermediate)
This pattern features a machine-embroidered alphabet from annthegran.com. Pretty 'n Pink would encourage quilters to make more use of their embroidery machines. It would also make up nicely with a collection of scrappy fabrics.

Quilter's Madness Bag

BB 04-04
(Beginner)
This pattern showcases "Under the influence of Fabric" collection by Moda. Suggestion companions to this pattern are the "Block Tool" (C & T), or other pattern references. There are three (6" X 6") pieced blocks on the front and back of the bag -but they are not included in the pattern.

Holiday Charm

BB 04-10
(Intermediate)
This is a nice teaching quilt. There are half -square triangles and flying geese. There is only 1 block (with a star centre and a plain centre.) This can be made using the Quilt in a Day flying geese ruler, or the Square in a Square technique.

Moonlite Serenade

BB 04-11
(Beginner)
This is a finishing pattern for use with a 12-month block club. It assumes that the customer has already made twelve (12" X 12") blocks.

Pillow Power

BB 05-06
This is a great project for beginners & experienced quilter, alike. Make several cushions in different colours for different seasons. Use leftover (planed over) fabric from quilt projects, to make these cushions.

Starlite Tree Skirt

BB 05-08
56" x 56"
While this pattern design is a tree-skirt, it can be easily adapted to a table topper or baby quilt by omitting the opening for the tree. The fabric requirements & instructions are based on the 'Square in a Square' technique (SnS) by Jodi Barrows.

Sew Carry It

BB 05-11
The "Sew Carry It" bag is designed to carry your 'Square in a Square' rulers. There is also a pocket for your rotary cutter, a couple of pens or cell phone. The instructions are easily adapted to other sizes.

Gail Otke became a Certified Square in a Square Teacher in July 2005, so this bag patterns is based on the Square in a Square technique by Jodi barrows. This pattern keeps company with a growing number of Gail's 'Bed Bugs.' patterns.

More Missing Pieces

BB 06-11
Wall Hanging/Table Topper (40½ X 40½)

Table Runner (15 X 46½)

This is a companion pattern to “Missing Pieces” (BB 01-09) and has been designed to be fun and quick to make. The original pattern has 3 sizes of blocks. This pattern makes 2 smaller projects using a smaller block.

Okanagan Cross Template

BB T03-05
(Intermediate)
This is a companion to the "Across the Lake" pattern. There are 3 acrylic templates that will make up a 6" block. It can be combined to make a 12" unit or a 24" unit. Diagrams are included with the package, including pressing directions.
